Description

This is two days per week (total of 14 hours), and time of day TBD. This position is a Conditional Professional/Technical RN/LPN Paraeducator position at the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center for the 2024-2025 school year only. Applicant needs to be an RN or LPN. This position does not include medical and dental benefits.

  

Anticipated start day is January 6, 2025.

 

 

JOB TITLE:                                     Professional Technical Paraeducator – RN/LPN

 

JOB CLASSIFICATION:                 Paraeducator – MESP

 

REPORTS TO:                                Director, Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center

                                                     (receives lead direction from classroom instructor)

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting teacher with instruction of Nursing Assistant Certified program students, at the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center site as well as at clinical facilities.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist teacher(s) with the daily supervision of students for the purpose of maintaining and providing a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Assist the teacher with providing instruction to students.
  • Provide assistance for the classroom teacher by demonstrating and monitoring student clinical skill practices at various sites.
  • Under the teacher’s direction, administer multiple student tests, collect and maintain diagnostic and test data, update student records, and assess student progress.
  • Assist teacher(s) with monitoring and managing student behavior and progress; share observations with teacher(s) and other professional staff. Assist the teacher with parent communication regarding student progress as needed.
  • Assist teacher(s) with implementation of various strategies to address diverse student needs and support individual educational growth and achievement goals.
  • Administer first aid, medical assistance, physical support and personal care for the purpose of providing appropriate care for children.
  • Participate in meetings and training for the purpose of sharing information, improving the employee skills and knowledge, implementing school initiatives and addressing student needs.
  • Comply with District Policies.
  • Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regularly work hours specified.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

JOB REQUIREMENTS; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn to operate standard classroom equipment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize computer applications.
  • Ability to strengthen job-related competencies.

Education and Experience:

  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Current CPR certification at healthcare provider level.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current unencumbered license.
  • Completed course in adult instruction, or willingness to complete.
  • At least 3 years previous experience in chronically ill or long term care (one year recent)[WAC246-841-470(7)(b)].
