Description

This is a 0.5 FTE position for the 2024-25 winter season at Kamiak High School. This position will include after school and weekend hours. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible, for the winter sports season.

 

The successful candidate will have an interest in wrestling. Knowledge of wrestling preferred.

  

Stipends are contingent upon the Mukilteo School District approving extra-curricular activities during the 24-25 school year as well as length of season and number of teams offered. 

 

  

JOB TITLE:                           Advisor, Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Advisor or Supervisor is responsible for promoting and implementing the activity program including the recruitment, instruction, mentoring, supervision, and motivation of students.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide age and skill-appropriate training and instruction/coaching to students for the purpose of developing student skills and abilities of the activity, proper attitudes, teamwork, and self-esteem.
  • Teach rules and safety and provide a variety of guidance, instruction, and experiences to enhance students’ personal, physical, social, and emotional development. Ensure the safety and well-being of students. Provide or arrange to provide timely first aid to injured or ill students as appropriate.
  • Promote sportsmanship and motivate student participants in a positive manner.
  • Supervise student behavior, correct behavior, and maintain discipline consistent with WIAA regulations and district/building policies and procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling events including meetings and practices; and logistics related to the activity including parent meetings.
  • Properly direct and supervise the work of assistants and volunteers.
  • Communicate effectively, establish, and maintain professional interactions with students, staff, parents, and the general public.
  • Process, manage and account for supply orders, distribution, and inventory. 
  • Maintain records of student eligibility, fiscal resources, and relevant records.
  • Implement and comply with District policies, WIAA regulations and the Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Maintain current knowledge of activity-related content and issues, certification, and any training requirements.
  • Attend meetings, clinics and workshops as required.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education: 

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Training in the specific activity.

Experience: 

  • Student cultural and economic diversity experience, preferred.
  • Successful experience in the specific activity, and with the age level of participants.
