Two (2) positions are needed for the 2023-2024 season at Explorer Middle School. Anticipated start date is March 25, 2024.

 

The successful candidate will assist the head coach of the middle school Track team after school and on weekends. Experience in track and field desired. Knowledge of basic rules and training techniques for track and field events. Desire to work with young athletes of all abilities. Guides other coaching personnel as may be appropriate in instruction techniques, organization of practices, supervision guidelines and responsibilities, for the purpose of providing guidance and mentoring. Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to get certified prior to season start. 


Stipends are contingent upon the Mukilteo School District approving extra-curricular activities during the 23-24 school year as well as length of season and number of teams offered.

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in the growth and development of student athletes by focusing on fundamental skills instruction with an emphasis on whole child development to include expectations for academic and athletic excellence, leadership skills, and positive social relationships.  The Assistant Coach will maintain open and honest communication with students, parents, coaches, and administrators.  The Assistant Coach is also a role model in personal management, appearance, ethics, behavior, and sportsmanship.
