This is an 8.0 hour per day, 260 day Human Resources Coordinator Classified position with benefits at the District Office.
Anticipated start date is January 6, 2025.
Hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
JOB TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator – Classified
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Represented
REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
JOB SUMMARY: This position processes all aspects of classified staffing, hiring, and employment, including budget and employee record verification and maintenance, compensation, leaves and resignations. Serves as primary resource for personnel data related to classified staff.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create, manage, and update pay contracts for all classified assignments.
- Distribute and monitor classified staffing allocations and maintain accurate staffing lists; answer inquiries from administrators regarding classified staffing allocations.
- Process employment requisitions for new employees and change employment status for existing employees ensuring accuracy, authorization, and compliance with budgetary conditions.
- Process new classified hires and leave replacements, transfers, resignations and retirements; calculate and apply salary schedule placement per negotiated agreements.
- Prepare correspondence relating to employment status, including letters of hire and responses to other employment issues.
- Coordinate verification of new employees’ experience and sick leave information.
- Coordinate New Employee Orientation program for all classified staff. Provide individual orientations as required
- Coordinate probationary evaluation process for classified staff, ensuring timely notification to supervisors and completion of evaluations.
- Prepare, distribute, and collect annual classified notices of continued employment.
- Prepare and distribute annual assignment and salary placement notifications.
- Input and maintain classified personnel data in WSIPC database system.
- Supply Payroll with employee information including position/assignment, location, date of hire, contract status, work hours/days, salary placement, and retirement/benefit eligibility.
- Prepare monthly classified personnel reports for the Board of Directors.
- Prepare and maintain classified personnel information for S275 State Report.
- Consult with Director of Human Resources regarding interpretation of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
- Prepare and maintain classified seniority lists.
- Prepare and maintain classified employee personnel files.
- Supply information during collective bargaining, budgeting, court litigation, and for other personnel matters as directed.
- Assist new employees with completion of employment forms.
- Complete salary surveys for classified staff.
- Comply with District Policies.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
- Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations affecting school district personnel practices.
- Ability to learn and interpret district policies and collective bargaining agreements, and to accurately apply these to various employment situations.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of district budgetary system and processes.
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively and efficiently use various electronic database software/systems to create, manage, and track employee records.
- Knowledge of and ability to use various equipment, software systems, and personnel applications related to job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic math, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to perform professionally and effectively while under pressure and tight timelines.
- Skill and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all individuals in a professional, timely, and courteous manner.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain trust and confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in a public school or public agency role involving management and administration of diverse personnel activities as well as experience using computerized systems.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree or higher in human resources management, business, or related field.
- Experience using the Washington School Information Processing Cooperative (WSIPC) system
