Kamiak High School is seeking an experienced dance team coach to lead and train the team for performances in its upcoming 2026-2027 season. This is a part-time position requiring primarily two to three weekday afternoon rehearsals from September through early February, and then ongoing work with recruitment, try-outs, and new member practices February through June with a one plus week intensive practice period in the summer. The team will perform at several home Football and Varsity Basketball games and possibly participate in pep assemblies.

 

The successful candidate will have knowledge of dance and dance routines, ability to work effectively with students, ability and willingness to meet all of the required coaching standards (first aid, CPR, AED, etc.), willingness to coordinate school and public appearances. Previous dance experience as a participant or coach.

 

Stipends are contingent upon the Mukilteo School District approving extra-curricular activities during the 26-27 school year.

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The dance coach is responsible for creating and overseeing the teaching of choreography to the dancers so that they can perform at home athletic events, as well as other appropriate events should the team be invited. The coach will oversee instruction, guide and enable the dancers to perform to the best of their abilities while ensuring a positive, professional, and team-spirited learning environment.
